PRIVATE BOSPHORUS CRUISE AND GOLDEN HORN WITH CABLE CAR AND CHORA CHURCH |
|
Byzantine City Walls:
That are series of stone walls that surrounded and protected the city of Constantinople since its founding as the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire by Constantine the Great. With numerous additions and modifications during their history, they are one of the greatest and most complex fortification systems ever built.
The Castle of Seven Tower was used as prison all the time during both Byzantine and Ottoman Empire period. ''Topkapi Gate'' takes its name from the period when Fatih the Great Sultan placed the cannon there when he conquered the city.
Church of Chora (Museum) *
The Chora Church is not as large as some of the other Byzantine churches of Istanbul ( it covers 742,5 meter square ), but what it lacks in size, it takes up for in the beauty of its interior.
Visit to Pierre Loti Hill by cable car -lift where you can catch the beautiful view of Istanbul. When you reach beautiful Pierre Loti Hill, you will have a rest time to drink with the nice view of Golden Horn.
Cruise on the Golden Horn
Cruise along the Golden Horn and see the historical heart of the city and principal harhor of Byzantium, Constantinople and Istanbul for over 2.000 years
Panorama 1453 Museum
The museum of the conquest, which opens a door onto Istanbul’s history, is located across from the spot on the Topkapi-Edirnekapi ramparts where the siege occurred. This is Topkapi, the place where the fiercest battle of the Constantinople siege took place, where the unsalable walls were overcome, where the day that the blessed soldiers had awaited occurred…This is the door that opened onto the conquest of Constantinople…Here you will witness the conquest of Constantinople once again and experience the moment when the soldiers entered the city, almost exactly as happened.
Lunch
Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar)
Built between 1597 and 1664, it is the second oldest covered bazaar in the city. You may find there mystical smells of different aromas of various spices. Shops selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish etc.. Rustem Pasha Mosque, Mimar Sinan built this mosque in 1560 for Rustem Pasha, son-in-law and the grand vizier of Soliman the Magnificent. Its particular beauty lies in Iznik tiles covering it, both inside and outside.

We were picked up from our hotel after the bus was late coming due to traffic delays. The tour guide dropped us off for a 35 minute visit to the Spice Bazaar before the cruise. The Spice Bazaar was excellent. The 1 1/2 hour cruise though windy and cool was very good. The commentary provided was sufficient to give you the necessary information but not too obtrusive to detract from the fantastic scenery. It is a magnificent waterway and your cruise boat is often dwarfed by tankers etc using the Strait. East meets West, Europe one side and Asia the other. Istanbul is a colourful city and it was good to view Istanbul from the Bosphorus. The bus driver dropped us back to our hotel but was happy to drop some passengers off at the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar.

My then-boyfriend (now fiance!) worked with the company to create a beautiful surprise engagement for me. Working with them behind the scenes and online, he was able to arrange a gorgeous yacht to pick us (and only us) up in Istanbul, which cruised up and down the Bosphorus River. The captain and a company employee pointed out historic sites, and arranged for a delicious Turkish dinner to await us below, while we were enjoying the sights on the second level. When it was time to propose, the captain left us by ourselves, with a fruit platter and bottle of champagne. They were so accommodating and helpful, and it made the amazing experience of getting engaged to the love of my life all that more special.
I highly recommend this company! They are experienced, patient, and willing to help out however they can. The yacht was absolutely lovely, and we we charmed by the Istanbul.

When we think of Istanbul we typically think of the Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar which are all fantastic, exotic sights, but for us, the Bosphorus Cruise is what made Istanbul a magical experience. The splendid palaces and beautiful homes set among leafy neighbourhoods that slope towards the water are remarkable. Hundreds of small boats rushing hither, thither and yon, from Europe to Asia and Asia to Europe make the waterway as exciting as Venice's Grand Canal. Do NOT miss this amazing cruise when you are in Istanbul.
Bosphorus Cruise is the most famous cruise in Istanbul Turkey. It is a must to try. The view from the cruise was very fascinating. It take almost 2 hours to ride this cruise. Love the View very much. Such a lovely trip to take when you can travel to Asia and Europe side in one a single trip
